Under Surveillance

Freedom is not what you thought
You can’t even piss without getting caught
The police are watching every breath you take
Cameras are documenting every move you make
Your life isn’t yours
It’s constantly serving a cause
Security guards are nowadays more militant
Police are becoming more vigilant
They’re also becoming more like an irritant
They treat us like illegal immigrants
Because they’re eminent for being imminent
I’m tied up and constantly under the eye
Of this woman who won’t give me the bly
This is the price we pay
For our “freedom” every night and day
On my knees every day I pray
For a better day instead of this Dystopian disarray
It’s like the Big Brother house
We’re treated no better than a mouse
This is worse than 1984
And I’m not talking about the year for sure
I’m talking about the novel by George Orwell
Cameras watching our every move like “Oh well”
This is called control without physical force
Damaging the people mentally until they go coarse
Turning us mad like a drugged-up horse
Being under surveillance could really take us off course
